Goals:

This program was developed for oncology nurses who desire additional information about the immune system and immune mediated tumor killing, focusing on enhancing antibody dependent cellular cytotoxicity. This activity will enrich the oncology nurse’s contribution to quality health care by providing the nurse with advanced information about immunology and current strategies to enhance targeted therapies.

Objectives:

  • List four effector cells
  • Define antibody dependent cellular cytotoxicity (ADCC)
  • Explain the role of selected cytokines in enhancing ADCC.
