Goals:

This program was developed for oncology nurses to introduce the concept of symptom cluster and which symptoms may cluster (e.g. fatigue, pain, sleep disturbance, mucositis).  This activity will enrich the oncology nurse's contribution to quality health care by providing the nurse with an overview of importance of the relationship between side effects from cancer or cancer treatment.

Objectives:

  •  Define symptom clusters.
  •  List 3 symptoms that may have a relationship.
  •  Describe basic principles for symptom cluster management.
